It was really great to return this August to Casa Robledal and to meet up once again with the friendly and helpful owners (who live nearby if needed for any help or advice).
The house and gardens are very well kept by an excellent maid and gardener. The house itself is spacious, comfortable and nicely furnished (I loved the 2 chesterfield sofas with their big cushions). All of the four bedrooms and the cottage have comfortable beds and their own bathrooms, which was ideal for our family as we could all have our own space and privacy. The fact that the house is all on one level was very handy for my mother and our grandchildren.
The large pool has been positioned so that you can take in the spectacular mountain scenery whether you are swimming or soaking up the sun on the loungers.
We all thoroughly enjoyed rambling around the 50 acre estate, which gave us a nice workout before breakfast! There are longer walks as well, that lead directly from the estate so that you don’t have to drive to get to them.
The nearby village of Gaucin provided us with most of our shopping needs, as it has a couple of supermarkets, a bank, pharmacy, and post office, as well as a multitude of tapas bars and excellent restaurants.
We did some day trips to the beaches—we particularly liked the Atlantic beaches with the sand dunes and wind surfers to watch. We loved Ronda and the mountain drives around it—several good day trips there.
We would definitely recommend Casa Robledal to our friends and relatives—it’s a great place for a family get together, a group of friends or even a romantic break for a couple. Big enough to socialize in, yet private enough to get away on your own if you want.
