Cortijo el Peso is a beautiful Spanish farmhouse set in 20 acres of unspoilt rolling countryside.The original farmhouse dates back to the 1700s and has been tastefully reformed and the land sympathetically landscaped and well maintained.There is a man made freshwater pond, where you may fish, plentiful fruit and nut trees as well as much natural woodland and a wonderful large 19m. heated swimming pool with a spacious sun terrace.
The estate is about a 10 minute drive from the picturesque "pueblo blanco" of Gaucin, right in the heart of the beautiful Andalucian countryside where peace and tranquility abound.It is excellent country for hiking and birdwatching or just for relaxing and unwinding.Many visitors return to these holiday homes in Andalucia year after year, and that in itself speaks volumes.

The apartments are situated in a detached property set some way from the main farmhouse in the most wonderful peaceful setting and they make the perfect base for a relaxing and restful holiday. There are four delightful holiday homes to choose from depending on the size of your party and your needs. All are comfortably and well fitted and furnished and perfectly combine modern convenience with the charm of Spanish country living.El Bosque is the largest and can sleep upto 7 people.It is situated on the ground floor and has a large terrace.El Estudio and El Ciruelo accommodate 2 people, and El Nogal up to three. A cot can be provided at no extra cost in any of the apartments.
In addittion there is a comunual utility room with a washing machine, iron and ironing board.A welcome pack including bread, butter, eggs, tea, coffee, milk, fruit juice, bottled water, and a bottle of wine is provided for you on arrival.Linen, towels and a weekly cleaning service is included in the price.

Gaucin and the Surrounding Area
The "Pueblo Blanco" of Gaucin is less than 10 minutes away by car and here you will find plenty of shops, bars, and restaurants.In addition to Gaucin there are many other quaint white villages in the area all worth exploring.The surrounding counrtyside too is wonderful and an absolute paradise for hikers and bird watchers alike.There are miles of open unspoilt countryside for you to explore unhindered and the diversity of flora, fauna and birdlife is marvellous.The area is home to Griffin vultures, Bonelli's and Booted eagles,wild boar, mongeese and many other species, a true nature lovers paradise.
The historic town of Ronda is about an hours drive a way or for a very pleasant excursion you can pick up the train from the staion, about 10 minutes away, and go all the way to either Ronda or Granada through some very scenic countryside.
Other Activities.
Horse riding can be arranged at some nearby stables, fishing is available at the farm and there are some fascinating caves called Cueva de la Pileta with some prehistoric paintings in the vicinity.The managers, Pam and Ray, are always on hand to supply any local knowledge and information that you may require.
If you tire of all the peace and tranquility then it is about a 30 minute run down to the Costa del Sol with all the clean sandy beaches, shops, bars and restaurants that you would expect form the area, and not forgetting of course the excellent selection of golf courses.
