Babakan Villa is located in the safe and tranquil area of Amed, East Bali. It is set apart from the main tourist hotspot of Kuta and is unspoilt by mass tourism or large hotels. Amed is 3 hours away from the Kuta area and has a friendly and safe local community with a laid back atmosphere.
The villa offers first class air conditioned accommodation in a real paradise retreat. It has been built and decorated in accordance with Feng Shui practise observed in Bali and is set in its own peaceful and relaxing tropical gardens.There are paved patio and sun terrace areas, private parking for two cars, a garage, housekeepers lodgings and a Hindu temple. All this is just 200 m from a beautiful beach.

The accommodation comprises of a large lounge and dining area which is tastefully furnished and has a large screen Sky TV, DVD and music centre. The raised kitchen bar area has a 2 ringed hob, sink, storage cupboards and an under the counter fridge.There are 2 double bedrooms both of which are very comfortably furnished and have ample storage space.The fully fitted bathroom has a luxury step in bath, hand basin and w.c.
The villa has cool marble flooring throughout and beautiful hand carved wooden doors and shutters.
In conclusion it is a charming traditional style villa in a peaceful and relaxing setting with wonderful views across open countryside to the distant mountains.

There are just so many wonderful places and things to do in East Bali it is hard to know were to start.
You can visit the Turtaganga Water Temple which was built by the late king of the Karangasem regency as a retreat with a series of pools decorated with unusual statues. With its commanding hill top views of the surrounding rice fields and its isolation it is a wonderful place, the air and pools are refreshing.
Another water palace the Water Palace in Ujung was opened in 1921 by the late king who designed a palace with a moat, this is a beautiful and tranquil area. You can walk around and climb the stairs, resting at the top of the pagodas. There is a nice restaurant bar where you can stop and relax afterwards.
The bustling local market town of Amlapura is a wonderful experience, here you can buy locally grown produce and barter with the locals for some unique Balinese pieces (ATM machines available!)

Take a trip also to the traditional fishing villages of Seraijah - a unique cultural experience, this is a little known independent region of Bali containing pockets of ancient Balinese cultures untouched for generations
Diving in East Bali.
Diving in this area is a wonderful experience East Bali is one of the cheapest and most dramatic places to dive in the world. We can organize dives for new comers to this wonderful pastime as well as for those more experienced. We work alongside a local dive company who support the protection on this fragile reef eco-system. They will collect you from the villa and provide you with full tuition and safety instruction, escorting you through this colourful awe inspiring underwater world.
The two main dive sites in the region both have calm waters with no/mild currents and good visibility:
The nearby coastal reef of Amed has the best variety of hard corals in Bali with a huge diversity of colourful tropical reef fish, grouper and parrot fish.This is perfect for beginners with good visibility and immediate access from the beach.
Tulamben is a 10 minute journey from the villa, home to the famed wreck dive of USA Liberty World War II Ship. For a first dive this takes some beating, 30m offshore and no boats or other annoyances, just immediate easy access. The wreck is fully grown with anemone, gorgonia, sponge and coral. Not only are the fish brightly coloured and of various sizes, but they are tame and you can feed them as they swim around.

BALI CLIMATE:You can expect pleasant day temperatures between 20 - 30C (68 - 93F) all year round.December to March is considered the 'rainy season', but days are usually sunny and the rain starts during the night and passes quickly. From June to September the humidity is low and it can be quite cool in the evenings.During ths time of the year you will have hardly any rain in the coastal regions.
